Stuckert, traces the demography, physical characteristics, dental health, diseases, and trauma of Winchester’s inhabitants as revealed through almost 3,000 skeletons excavated from the Roman Cemetery at Lankhills, and the Anglo-Saxon and medieval cemeteries of the Old and New Minsters and Winchester Cathedral, as well as other Early Anglo-Saxon sites in neighbouring areas of Hampshire. Spanning over a millennium from c.350 to c.1500, this volume is unique in providing a continuous chronological window into the lives of Winchester’s residents.
